A recent episode of the Tim Ferris podcast featured renowned parapsychologist Professor Richard Wiseman. He pointed out that scientific studies have shown traditional brainstorming to be a waste of time.
Why? Because the process is always dominated by the loudest voices.
More effective is for participants to prepare three ideas pertinent to the topic in advance, and then spend the “brainstorming” session discussing them. Result: a broader range of ideas, everyone gets heard, and a higher chance of a better outcome.
Why not give it a try?
