Stable doors.


Exit interviews are a classic example of shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted.


In my experience, the feedback you get is either so tainted by personal bias and bitterness as to be worthless, or contains useful information which then gets ignored.


Regularly asking happy, motivated employees why they are staying with you is likely to be far more enlightening. And as a leader you are more likely to be inspired to build on those positives.


Like they say, identify what works. Then do more of it.
